This Week in the Kitchen - Easter Rehearsal

This Week in the Kitchen - Easter Rehearsal
17-04-2011

Yesterday, I read a link posted in Joana’s blog - "Top Ten Things To Expect When Dining With A Food Blogger" and I was thinking that some of them are already valid for me.

It happens imperceptibly for me, maybe not so for others, but now every time when  I start cooking something, I think how it would be published online and when I should  start to cook it, so I can finish and shoot it while there is still natural light /you have been informed for my problem with the light/.
Therefore, I accepted very cordially the invitation for Saturday′s barbecue with friends, organized by my sister and S in Bistrica - I was thinking how I could try out some new ideas that could be cooked and served as an Easter dish.
I quickly  prepared the menu, instructed my sister how to prepare the lamb skewers and started with the other things.
My idea was to offer something different than the standard Easter menu that usually includes roasted lamb meat, cooked rice  and green salad. And at the same time,  to be prepared quickly and not so fancy - I wasn’t willing to cook the whole Sutarday. And I doubt that any of you is burning with desire to spend the whole Easter Sunday in the kitchen.
At home, holiday lunch  usually starts in the early afternoon and relatives and friends are coming throughout the day. Because of this the table should be plentiful with various meals..

Having in mind that Easter is next week, I didn′t want to undulge this weekend so I prepared only a couple of things for the evening.

For one reason or another, we did not follow the initial plan  - it turned out that my sister did not take lamb, but pork meat. Sweet breads were gone and I did not have time for cheese cake.

Anyway, here it is
