Easter Eggs Decoration
It seems that it would become a tradition before every major holiday to visit Anna’s kitchen. Again this Saturday, with her innate hospitality, she invited us to decorate eggs for Easter /so called ‘blown’ eggs/.
We, the usual suspects – participants in the last year Christmas Marathon, accepted immediately.
You may be wondering what are "blown" eggs?
Initially, when I heard what will be the theme of Saturday′s workshop I was a kind of surprised .
But it turned out to be something very simple - a whole empty egg which content is blown through two holes /at the top and bottom part of the egg/ made by a thin knife. After being painted in colorful prints, these shells turn into very spectacular Easter decorations.
The steps for decorating “blown” eggs are as follows:
Wash the raw egg. With a thin knife make holes on both sides of the egg. Then with your mouth blow out the egg substance trough the bottom part of the egg. Leave the shells on a side to dry.
For decoration you may use oil paints, water colors, or different paper elements cut out from napkins and magazines.
Brush the shell with transparent glue, put the decoration, go over again with the brush and let dry.
Polish the eggs in order to keep the application for longer time.
Finish decoration with colorful ribbons and beads.
