Basil Flavored Triple Chocolate Raw Cake
Rarely, I would prepare twice one and the same dish. That’s what happened this time. I was asked for the purple raw cake but inspired by the fresh green basil leaves grown on my Mom’s kitchen window at the end we got a brand new chocolate cake with a basil flavored layer.
Necessary Ingredients
Preparation time: 1 hour
Serves: 10-12
- 2 cups raw walnuts
- 2 cups raw cashew or sunflower seeds soaked for two hours in water
- 10-15 pitted dates
- 6 tbsp. raw cacao powder
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 2 tbsp. tahini
- 1 tbsp. dried basil + 2tbsp. fresh
- 2 bananas
- 1 small can of organic coconut milk

Process the walnuts, 2 table spoons of cacao powder, chopped dates and 2-3 table spoons from the thick part of coconut milk in a food processor. If it stays too dry add some more coconut milk.
In a serving plate put the ring of a cake form and form a layer from the walnut mixture.
Prepare the cashew layer by processing the cashew with 2 spoons of cacao powder, honey and basil.
Distribute over the walnut layer.
At the end process bananas with the tahini and the remaining 2 table spoons of cacao powder.
Finish by distributing the last layer.

Leave in the fridge for one night. Serve on the next day decorated with fresh basil leaves.
