Ricotta Biscuits with Butter

Adapted from the book " Bake with love”
Preparation time: 15 min
Baking time: 30 min

Serves: 13 biscuits

 

 

• 450 g flour
• 250 g ricotta cheese
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• pinch pepper
• about 200 ml of milk
• 1 tblsp finely chopped parsley
• 1 tblsp finely chopped fresh thyme
• 1 tblsp finely  chopped basil
• 1 tblsp poppy seeds

 

Turn oven to 170 ° C,  if you bake with circulating air,  or 190 ° C (program heat top and bottom). Cover one large baking try with baking paper
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and pepper.
In a separate bowl beat the cheese and the egg until smooth (both products should be at room temperature). Add finely chopped fresh spices and the flour.

Gradually, pour a little bid milk, as much as necessary to obtain soft, slightly sticky dough. If you have poured too much milk, do not worry and put some flour in order to form the dough.  
Vigorously, with wet hands, shape medium-sized balls, placed them in  the tray and flatten slightly. Sprinkle some poppy seeds on the top. Bake for 30 minutes in preheated oven until lightly browned.

Serve warm or cold with butter, cheese and fresh vegetables.
