Serves 20 small donuts

2 cups flour
1 tsp dry yeast
1 packet baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup smashed potatoes
1 cup finely grated carrots
4 tbls of milk or cream
½ cup sugar
2 tbls vegetable oil
In a bowl mix the flour, baking powder, yeast, cinnamon and nutmeg.
In another bowl beat the eggs, milk, sugar and oil. Finally, add smashed potatoes and grated carrots.
Gradually add flour mixture, stir until homogeneous dough is formed. The dough should be soft and sticky. Leave it for about 30 minutes to rise. Then, with greased hands, shape balls with a size of a walnut and arrange them on baking paper.
From time to time grease your hands for easier handling of the dough.
Leave the balls in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Bake in preheated to 190 º C oven. Take out after 15-20 minutes. They should be brown at the edges and yellow inside.
If you prefer you could fry the donuts. Preheat oil to 190 degrees and fry in deep pan. Put them on a paper towel to absorb the oil.
Mix powder sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle the donuts. Serve warm.
